Tri the Hook 2014

Tri-the-Hook is an annual Sprint Triathlon event which takes place on the Hook Peninsula, Co Wexford.

The 2014 event will take place on Saturday the 16th of August 2014 in and around the village of Fethard-on-Sea, Co Wexford. The event is a Sprint Triathlon which is suitable for triathletes of all levels of ability.

The triathlon consists of a 750 meter Swim, a 20km Cycle course around the Hook Peninsula, and a 5k Run to arrive back in the village of Fethard-on-Sea. Tri-the-Hook is sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland.

The event is run by Hook Tourism which is a voluntary organisation that promotes tourism for the Hook Peninsula in the Sunny South East.

Hookamuck Challenge

Off road challenge for runners, walkers and joggers. The course is manmade of natural obstacles inc ditches, ropes, slides, pits, water, tyres and muck!

Description

Hook Tourism is running a Mud Run event on 26th July 2014. Hookamuck is coming. It’s fun, it’s new and different, you can spend time with your friends getting very muddy whilst improving your fitness. Enter alone or as a team. The course is 10k of challenges, water, mud and determination.

The course is run through 200 acres of forestry with over 35 obstacles, all with the intention of testing your mental and physical strength and ability. We are currently developing the course which will hopefully be 10 kilometres long, not the same 5 kilometres twice but 10 kilometres of different terrain and obstacles.

As the course is updated through the coming months, we will update you with the details.

A fitness instructor will guide you through your warm up before you start and yes we will have an open shower area, toilets and a key drop for your car keys.

Participants must be over 18 years of age.

Pirate Festival – Hook Head

Sunday 6th July – Pirate Festival, fun for all the family, teams of raggedy pirates from all over the Peninsula take part in pirate battles for coveted treasure
